Elegant Aqua and Melon Birth Announcement

Many of you have worked with Kristin through our Etsy shop: Green Beansie Ink.  She is awesome, always flexible with her schedule and willing to learn new things on Photoshop.  I feel assured that she will take care of our customers in the kind and caring way that is in line with our Green Beansie Ink Etsy shop values.

Kristin recently welcomed her second child to their family: baby girl, Kennedy Jane.  I was eager to show my thanks and appreciation for Kristin by designing her birth announcements.  Kristin has a modern but classical style and is always up to date on the current trends (I regularly turn to her for fashion advice!).  We designed her announcement to coordinate with the beautiful aqua and melon Mosaic bedding from Serena and Lily.

I sent her two proofs, in the end Kristin decided on the two photo design. Check out the adorable Kennedy and her big brother!

Mod Black and White 40th Birthday for a Man

I always love working with Ribbon Whirls in Australia, these ladies are amazing, they coordinate high-end events, create beautiful desserts and do their own photography!  Usually I provide graphics for formal birthday dessert buffets or weddings.  However, this celebration was a little different - honoring a man who is turning 40 and loves photography!  I love the contemporary, bold, black and white styling perfect for a modern man!  Scroll to the bottom for a complete list of vendor credits.

Happy Valentine's Day Mouse Party

My daughter played the role of a mouse in the Nutcracker this past Christmas and was in tears the whole way home from her final performance, sad that she wouldn't be seeing her "mouse" friends anymore.  The only thing I could think of was, "we'll throw a mouse reunion party!" which changed her focus from the sad to goodbye to eager anticipation.
I had the idea to tie the theme into the Laura Numeroff book, "Happy Valentine's Day Mouse."  We love all of her books, full of fun and colorful illustrations and cute storylines.
Our party was simple with a few activities planned and a combination of boutique-bought and homemade desserts.

I designed this invitation to be reminiscent of the book.
Below, I used the invitation artwork on an overhead projector to copy the design on to our large chalkboard.

Our very simple dessert table consisted of

Our party activities consisted of
  • Decorating little, pink mailboxes - we filled each mailbox with letters to spell the child's name and additional stickers.  Chalkboard labels also served as placecards.
  • A candy heart hunt - each person could find 10 candy hearts and there was a special prize for the person that also found a mouse
  • Each person had a favor basket to take home with the "Happy Valentine's Day, Mouse" book, a mouse craft made out of Hershey kisses, cookies, macarons, M&Ms and their decorated mailboxes.
